GunLemming reviews the classic, Half Life 1 Series, which consisted of 3 perspectives, Half Life (Gordan Freeman), Opposing Force (Colonal Shepard), Blue Shift (Barney Calhoun). This was one of the best games out, and still competes with today’s games in terms of gameplay and well the whole game itself.

News: ‘Max Payne 3’ Gameplay Trailer - Released!

Written by Doormat

‘Max Payne 3’ has received a lot of attention… some good, and some bad. The change of setting, the appearance of Max and the ‘feel’ have made ‘Max Payne’ purists angry, but maybe this change is for the greater good? We can only determine if the ‘gameplay’ will be good enough to please both ‘Max Payne’ purists and casual gamers being welcomed into the series… and after waiting for so long since the announcement of a third installment in the ‘Max Payne’ series, they’ve finally released the gameplay trailer. The previous trailer was a little taste of what to expect, but now we see in-game action, with the HUD and all. Take a look below.

From my personal opinion, the way they’ve handled this game is terrific. I love the design and their supposed ‘AI’ improvements, like how depending on what the person is, affects how they’re handled in a gun-fight, so if it’s a rookie gangbanger, he might be an easy target but if you’re up against a special agent, then it’ll be tough. Also the brutal executions in this trailer, showing eyeballs being shot out and jaws being ripped off, this looks to be a violently detailed game, just the way we like ‘Max Payne’… so maybe it’s ‘slightly’ safe to say that the ‘Max Payne’ franchise is in good hands? I think so.

News: ‘Postal III’ to be released this December?

Written by Doormat

- - -

There’s been speculation, whether Postal III will ever be released, but ray of sunshine has shun upon this speculation, and the answer is “Most probably”. It would seem recently that developers Running With Scissors have placed their new title on Steam. And along with the addition of the title being on Steam, instead of seeing a ‘Q1 2012’ next to the title, we see a ‘date’.

Not a specific date I might add, but it shows ‘December, 2011’. I don’t know whether this is just a random date so that they can soon push it back and back, but I have seen the gameplay and trailers, and it seems ready to me. So C’mon Running with Scissors, let us fill the shoes of the lovable protagonist ‘Postal Dude’ for this Christmas.

News: DC Universe is now Free-to-Play

Wait what!? Some of you are saying, but this is a dream come true for some gamers such as myself. DC Universe used to be available for a monthly fee, and well we have enough games such as, Skyrim, Saints Row: The Third, and Battlefield 3 for us to chuck our money away on, let alone an action hero game every month.

Now there is no need to worry about monthly fees, so grab your Batman gear, or put on your Joker face, and finally play DC Universe with a slightly more filled wallet.

News: ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Trailer Release & Analysis!

Written by Doormat

So it’s finally released, I happen to believe one of the most anticipated ‘trailers’ this year, or if not, ‘ever’. ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ trailer reveals so much but very little at the same time, you may find it strange, but here… have a look for yourself… the trailer below.

Now, I’ve pin-pointed some key features in this trailer. It would seem that Rockstar Games have gathered every bit of gameplay mechanics from their previous titles and collided them together in this ‘fifth’ era installment. In the trailer, you’ll see a golf course, a mountain that’ll most definitely be climbable, a dog, a beautifully detailed Los Santos (You’ll see key landmarks to identify it being Los Santos, like the ‘Vinewood’ on the hills), jet-ski’s, jets and planes, rich and detailed characters and environment.

Now, you might be thinking “Who might be the protagonist?”, well I’ve analysed this with and you’ll see in this trailer a middle-aged man with gray-ish hair, later on you see this man not only knock on a van window, signaling his partners to hop out, but he goes ahead and kicks down a door, then in another shot you see the same man driving a posh blue car. Is this the protagonist? Well, I believe there may be ‘multiple’ protagonists.

In the trailer you see an African-American running away from some cops, now the way the African-American moves, you may think it’s a cutscene, but later in the trailer, there is a scene in which a red sports car is evading the police and it speeds past the camera. I paused the trailer at the right moment and inside the vehicle was the African-American, so this brings us to my next question… will this game have the same set-up like the very first GTA, in which we pick our character to start with at the beginning? Or will it be like ‘Episodes from Liberty City’? Or maybe even ‘Heavy Rain’ in which throughout the game, you’ll switch to different characters?

All these questions will be answered in time, but ‘till then, enjoy this exciting and awesome new trailer. Remember to check back here for more upcoming news on GTAV when it’s released.
